The Second Arabic Calligraphy Workshop was a big hit!

On Thursday 11/18 at 5.00 PM Williams students enjoyed the second Arabic calligraphy workshop in the Language Lab, Hollander Hall. This time, students learned how to write names and new Arabic letters using calligraphy styles. We discovered some great talents in Arabic Calligraphy and we look forward to seeing Williams students develop their abilities in this amazing skill. Continue reading »

Hat geschmeckt! On Monday, November 15th, both German and Non-German Williams students alike came together to make some fresh Spätzle-Noodles and prepare a classic Swabian Käsespätzle. The Spanish Department prepares an object theater to celebrate ‘El Día de Lxs Muertxs’

Last Thursday, November 4, the Spanish Department organized a cultural event to celebrate 'El Día de lxs Muertxs'. The event was held at Griffin 5, which was adorned with motifs from this special Mexican tradition such as an altar, sugar skulls, candles, etc. First, the TAs, dressed up as Catrinas, performed their own theater, using only abstract objects that were used to represent characters and places. Then, they guided the students so that they could create their own theaters using other abstract objects that had previously been selected by the TAs. The event was a hit! Continue reading »
